Assistant Manager, Miss Sarah, was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. She attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in Sociology and Dance and Performance Studies. She began figure skating as a child and has been skating competitively for over 10 years, holding several national titles! As a figure skating coach and athlete, Sarah loves any and all things fitness-related and is thrilled to help children at Karate Kids keep their minds strong, bodies strong, and spirits strong!

Chief Instructor, Black Belt, Sensei Mike comes to Karate Kids with a diverse martial arts background. The Ohio native brings with him experience in Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai kickboxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. A professional actor, writer, and combat choreographer, Sensei Mike has an abundance of energy and an innate love for martial arts. His ability to relate to children and his fun-loving personality makes him an asset to the company. Sensei Mike's ultimate goal for his students at Karate Kids is to make each class more memorable and extraordinary than the last. Osu Sensei!

Instructor, Black Belt Sensei Oscar Born in San Francisco raised in Oakland where he began his martial arts training at the young age of 10. He received his black belt at age 16 around the same time he started teaching and was considered a favorite to both students and parents. He then went on to become State and USTU National champion in Creative Forms competition. He enjoys teaching because of the positive energy, which he feels is very important to have in life. When he is not teaching, he likes to work on his acting craft, and career.

Instructor, Black Belt Sensei Derek is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. He began his martial arts training at the age of nine, studying numerous styles in addition to Shotokan Karate. A talented actor, Sensei Derek has appeared in theater, commercials, film and TV, and is also co-owner of Electric Education, a company dedicated to enriching a child's education through theater. Sensei Derek is always happy to share the spotlight with his students at Karate Kids!

Customer Service Staff, Mister Galen, graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Musical Theatre. An avid singer, actor, and dancer, he spent summers assisting in musical theatre camps for kids. A passionate sports fan, Galen can often be found at the beach.
Excited to learn karate himself, Galen is happy to be surrounded by kids again and looks forward to helping nurture their passions.

Customer Service Staff Miss Jacquelyn, is a Southern California native, who lived for several years in New Jersey. Always interested in inspiring children, she began teaching Sunday School at the age of 14! An avid runner since high school, she enjoys hiking and is currently training to run a marathon, while studying International Business at Pierce College. Miss Jacquelyn is proud to continue inspiring children here at Karate Kids! |
